Summer in Rochester, New York, is more than just a season; it’s a city-wide celebration of culture, music, and community. From the world-renowned scent of Highland Park's lilacs to the soulful rhythms of downtown jazz, the 2026 calendar is packed with events that make this region unique.

Spring Kickoff: Lilacs and Local Flavors

The season officially begins in May with the Rochester Lilac Festival (May 8–17). As one of the city's most iconic traditions, it draws visitors from across the globe to Highland Park. If you prefer culinary delights, the Greek Festival (May 28–31) and the Flower City Days at the Public Market offer the perfect way to welcome the warmer weather!

Mid-Summer Rhythms

June and July turn up the volume. The Rochester International Jazz Festival (June 19–27) transforms downtown into a global stage, while recurring events like Party in the Park (Thursdays, July – August) ensure there is never a quiet week in the city.

Art, Heritage, and Community

For art lovers, the Corn Hill Arts Festival (July 11–12) provides a stunning backdrop of historic architecture and local craftsmanship. The summer wraps up with powerful community celebrations, including the Rochester Pride Parade & Festival (July 18) and the high-energy Puerto Rican Festival (July 30 – August 1).

Whether you are a local or just visiting for the weekend, 2026 is the year to get outside and experience everything Rochester has to offer!
